Can you effectively diagnose a problem with your GC just by looking at your
chromatogram?
These two sessions will
provide a very useful overview of the diagnosis of GC peak shape problems
that can result from a variety of sources. Insight will be presented into
the treatment of the actual cause of the GC problem as opposed to treating
the symptoms. A myriad of peak shape problems will be discussed with
effective and logical approaches to correct the issues and to preventatively
avoid them in the future.
These sessions will focus on the evidence of unrest in the
world of GC analysis when efficient peak shapes degrade. Effective
treatments of the causes will be presented together with tips on
preventative measures that can be employed.
The following peak based problems will be addressed:
-
peak broadening
-
front peak tailing
-
peak back tailing
-
solvent peak tailing
-
ghost peaks
-
irregular peaks
-
no peaks
-
unresolved peaks
-
carryover peaks
-
contamination peaks
The instructor for these audio seminars

He has over 27 years as a practicing gas
chromatographer, analytical chemist and trainer, and has lectured all over
the world with training seminars, workshops and invited presentations.
